Hello and welcome to The Edgar Wallace Summer Beer Festival 2008.
It's been a long time since we had an actual beer festival, we thought that having 8 ale pumps would be enough to keep us entertained, but I have missed the fun of sourcing (and tasting) a new selection of beers. We decided to run a summer festival as the golden, hoppy beers always are the most popular, and what better time to quaff them than during the glorious English summer!!
I make no apologies for including some of my own personal favourites, as I know my taste is impeccable (just ask my missus).
All the beers have been chosen for their thirst-quenching properties, as this is what we are looking for in a summer ale. Most are well-hopped, all are refreshing, and we even have included a Scottish fruit beer. All the beers are priced at £3.00 apart from the Williams Roisin, Vale Hadda's Summer Glory and Dent Summer Wether which are £3.20.
We would love to know what your favourite beer of the festival was, so if you would scribble it on a festival leaflet, tear off and hand it over the bar, it would be appreciated. We may even give out a prize to a random entrant by way of encouragement (it will be a gallon of ale plus whatever t-shirts etc we have lying around).
Don't forget to check out our menu, we do excellent, fresh, homemade food which will accompany your beer with style.
